WebDU is five weeks away and after originally having thought to take a break from presenting this year I've decided to stand behind the podium and wave my hands around again. Geoff has asked me to fill in a gap and this year I'm talking about some interesting projects that I've been working on.
There's a good selection of Flex, Flash and ColdFusion in the lineup this year - with an Apollo session on the offering as well.
Webqem, my employer, is an Adobe Connect Professional specialist and we've been building some interesting Flash and Flex applications that leverage the Connect Professional server as a platform. Connect is Flash and you as a developer can build applications in ActionScript to run on the Connect server.
My session shows as "To Be Determined (Andrew Muller)", actual details are as follows:
Session Title:
Connecting to Connect, Building Flash Applications for Adobe Connect
Session Description:
Through open APIs it's easy for exiting Flash developers to build applications for Adobe Connect. Using the AICC standard dynamic exams can be built and deployed for eLearning; Adobe's Collaboration Builder SDK provides the means to build applications that connect users via live online meetings; and Connect's own API allows for custom dashboards to be built to administer the Connect server.
Session Detail:
Andrew will discuss the highs and lows of developing eLearning applications with Flash that can be deployed with Connect. He will talk about the limitations and workarounds required to successfully build applications that will work within the AICC standard and demonstrate Connects ability to track the results of both users and the effectiveness of online assessment.
The Collaboration Builder SDK is a free download from Adobe that can be used by Flash developers to build collaboration content for Connect meetings. Learn how it can be used to create Pods that can be simultaneously used by many users during an online meeting.
The Connect server has an API that gives the developer access to the data managed by the Connect administration interface. This can be used to build custom solutions for clients, dashboards to display data based on existing business rules.
