The Initial Offering Of Flex Builder 2 Will Not Be For Everyone

Hmmm, from the Flex 2 FAQ:

"The initial release of Flex Builder 2 will be available on Windows only. We plan to make a version for OS X available shortly thereafter."

I know this is an Eclipse plugin, wonder what's so Window's specific.

Latest Eclipse Available Via BitTorrent

While it's already been noted elsewhere that Eclipse 3.1.1 is now available with it's many bug fixes I realised that there's something new about the download this time, and please feel free to correct me on this one.

Checking out the Eclipse download section I noticed a torrent link was also now available: noice, unsusal, different.

More on Flex, MXML, Eclipse & the oXygen Plug-in

As mentioned previously I've been trying out the oXygen plug-in for Eclipse to write MXML for Flex on OS X, in this post I thought I'd give some more detail on just what the plug-in is capable of doing.
The first thing is setting oXygen up so that you can author MXML. From the preferences in Eclipse choose the oXygen options and from there expand: Editor > Tag Insight. Here's where you point oXygen at the MXML schema.

Authoring MXML for Flex on the Mac

There's been a syntax definition for TextPad on Windows almost from Flex's release, it's about time we found a tool to author MXML for the Mac.

While it's been coming for some time it does not appear as though the elusive "Partridge" plug-in for Eclipse is arriving any time soon, but that doesn't mean that Eclipse should be ruled out as a authoring tool altogether.
